Royal Flushes There is only one royal flush in each suit; there are four suits, for a total of four royal flushes.
Straight Flushes
Straight Flushes To calculate the number of straight flushes, first find the number of straight flushes in one suit. Let us take spades. Starting from the bottom and working up, we get nine straight flushes in spades: The ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, the 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and so on. Since we have nine straight flushes in each suit, we get a total of 36 straight flushes for the four suits.
