9. Saw Tooth Betting Systems A saw tooth betting (on the win streaks) and flat betting (on the lose streaks) has been analyzed in Table 9-1. In this case the streaks are truncated at 6W/L although 6 is not a magic number. The Risk in Table 9-1 is a small $30. The Difference column has both positive and negative results with Average “Winnings” per Cycle of –$0.48 (a loser) resulting in a Not Applicable Risk to Average “Winnings” per Cycle. It is difficult to know why one would want to bet the system presented here but remember no one before has had access to the analysis power contained in this booklet. Perhaps the premium hands of Blackjack, Double Downs and Pair Splits can provide sufficient wins. Although half the playing time (during the Lose Streaks) not much money is on the table making premium hands relatively weak dollar winners for this system.
Now that you have gone this far with this booklet, it is time for you to branch out and prepare your own analysis. Table 9-2, Modified Saw Tooth/Progressive Method of Betting – Format for Reader’s Exercise, is provided for your use. This writer has included in Table 9-2 the Amounts to be Bet for both the Win Streaks ($15, $10, $5, $5, $10, $15) and the Lose Streaks ($15, $15, $15, $25, $50, $95). During the Lose Streaks the bets tend to be progressive. But these progressive bets are not a Martingale. They were designed to limit Risk relative to the Risk of the Martingale. Now fill in the blanks in Table 9-2. Note: to determine the Average “Winnings” per Cycle add the difference values for Lose Streaks 1 through 6W and divide that sum by 64-1 (the average number of streaks for 1-6W.) After you are done and satisfied then check your answers against the Appendix Table 9-2. Also the Appendix discusses Table 9-2 further.
