The probability of being dealt a particular pair like Aces, can be calculated as: 4 / 52 X 3 / 51 = 12 / 2652 or 1 / 221 This can also be expressed as 220 to 1.
If you are dealt a pocket pair
If you are dealt a pocket pair like Kings, there are 50 unknown cards remaining of which two are Kings. The probability of flopping a set can be calculated as: Desired outcomes divided by all possible outcomes multiplied by the number of chances 2 (Kings) / 50 (remaining cards in the deck) x 3 (cards on the flop) 2 / 50 x 3 = 12%
