The seven Stud Texas Hold'em Poker games that follow are far superior to Five Card Stud and its variants for several basic reasons. First, each player is dealt seven cards from which he selects the five best to use on the showdown. Second, in these Seven Card Stud games there are three hole cards (face-down cards) dealt to each player instead of the one dealt in Five Card Stud. These two factors lead to a more scientific and interesting game with considerably more betting and bluffing, and much bigger pots—all because of the nature of the game. In most Seven Card Stud games there are five betting rounds, and each player who stays until the showdown will be dealt seven cards, four face up and three face down.
