Usually, when played in California Texas Hold'em Poker clubs, this game is played eight-handed with three different betting styles: Blind, Blind and Straddle, and Pass-out.
1. Blind.
1. Blind. After the ante and before the players receive their five cards, the leader (player left of the dealer) puts in a blind one-unit bet. Player to the leader's left raises two units blind. 2. Blind and Straddle. There is no ante in this transported English game variation. There are usually three blind bettors, starting with the dealer. The dealer places one unit into the pot. The leader places two units into the pot, and the player to his left places three units into the pot. Thereafter the betting and raising limits usually amount to three units. 3. Pass-out. In this variation there is no blind. Players ante. If you pass or check before the draw, you must fold (throw your hand away). Sometimes the game is played with a 52-card deck minus the joker. However, I consider this Lowball variation a weak sister to Lowball with the Joker (bug).
