Strategy at Seven Card High-Low Stud Most of the tips, hints, and strategies listed under Five Card Stud, Seven Card Stud and Razz are applicable to Seven Card High-Low Stud Declare, plus the following. The accepted strategy rule in this version of High-Low Stud is to start off by playing for low. If your first dealt cards are queen, queen, and a two, you are destined for a high declaration. However, at the showdown, you may find a starting low hand ending up with three of a kind or two big pairs and beating you for high. Consequently, to give your playing the flexibility of making either a low or high hand or both, it is best to start out playing for low.
