CALIFORNIA POKER CLUBS California permits commercialized Texas Hold'em Poker playing only at Five Card Draw and Five Card Lowball (ace to five). The reason for this is that the California law considers Closed or Draw Texas Hold'em Poker to be a game of skill and Stud or Open Texas Hold'em Poker a game of chance. Towns in California may, by local option, issue licenses for Draw Texas Hold'em Poker to Poker clubs which rent tables at an hourly rate and supervise the honesty of play.
I agree with the California law that Draw Poker is a game of skill
I agree with the California law that Draw Online Hold'em Poker is a game of skill and am glad that at least one state recognizes it officially as such. I suggest that all other forty-nine states should do the same. I must, however, disagree that Stud Online Hold'em Poker is a game of chance. Actually it requires more skill than Draw Online Hold'em Poker.
