A condensed version of the principal general Texas Hold'em Poker rules found in each of Gardena's six clubs follows: 1. The chip buy-in is ten times the minimum bet. In the $1 and $2 Draw, $10; in the $5 and $10 Draw, $50; in the $20 and $40 Draw, $200. Antes run from a quarter in the $1 and $2 Draw to $5 in the $20 and $40 Draw. 2. Players take turns dealing each player five cards one at a time. 3. The dealer must burn the top card of the deck before dealing active players the requested number of cards on the draw. 4. Players can draw as many as five cards. 5. Check and raise (sandbagging) is permissible and there is no limit on the number of raises.
Verbal raising or calling is not binding. 7. Chips in the pot denote action. 8. The joker in a 53-card deck is used only as an ace and as a wild card to complete a straight or a flush. 9. There is no such thing as a "double ace flush." 10. You must protect your hand at all times—more or less than five cards on the showdown constitutes a dead hand.
