Italian High-Low Draw Poker
Italian High-Low Draw Texas Hold'em Poker The first time I played this game was at the home of a member of the American Embassy in Rome. The game is played like standard Draw Texas Hold'em Poker except for the following. After each player has been dealt five face-down cards, the first betting round starts with the leader making the opening bet regardless of the value of his hand. However, after the draw and the second betting round, with the leader speaking first, the leader now has three options. He may drop out, check, or bet as he wishes.
Only three raises are permitted
Only three raises are permitted on this betting round and other betting rounds. Players may choose to stand pat or discard one or two cards. After the discard turn of play has been completed, the dealer places the two top cards of the deck in the center of the table face up, placing a coin on the first dealt community card for identification.
