By raising, pre-flop
By raising, pre-flop you took control of the hand and let your opponents know that you are holding something. If you make a continuation bet, you are letting them know that you like the flop and unless they flopped something big they will most likely fold.
If some one is holding a Queen
If some one is holding a Queen there is a good chance that he may fold with a King on the flop.
