If a tight holdem player raises pre-flop indicating that he has a big pocket pair and then checks on the flop, he most likely flopped a set. He will most likely check - raise if you bet into him. If you are on a draw, check behind him instead of betting.
Another factor in deciding how one of your opponents will play a hand, is their attitude. A holdem player who is on a winning streak will have a positive attitude and is likely to play more hands, play aggressive and unlikely to fold any hand when he feels he has any chance, at all, of winning.
